The cabin posts are coming!

Now that things are settled with the cabin drama I’m going to post a back log of posts from my private blog over the next few days as I get time. (Hopefully right now if my children don’t stop happily playing!) I couldn’t really post about things publicly before, since so many people read this and anyone can find it on Google. If you see a huge amount of backdated posts from me this is why!  The whole debacle is somewhat...

Update: Pictures & Cabin.

I’ve been having a rough few weeks. First I got terrible mastitis completely out of the blue. No idea why. 2/3rd’s of my left breast was hard as a rock, hot, and red one morning. There wasn’t any warning beforehand, no plugged duct or anything! I got an antibiotic, but it didn’t work. Finally I went to the ER over the weekend with a 102.5 (f) fever that wouldn’t go down, completely miserable. Body aches, nausea, the whole shebang. They gave...

Lawyer Up, Buttercup.

I don’t even know what to say. I feel speechless. (You might know I don’t feel speechless very often…) Jaw dropped, mouth flapping open, drooling out of the corner of my mouthspeechless. My landlords at the cabin are honest to God insane. I mean really, I don’t know what is wrong with them. I can’t even begin to guess what in the world they are thinking. You all have followed along with this entire Cabin debacle, right? From the beautiful outdoors,...

Lost two homes & a grandma, then gained a castle. 0

Lost two homes & a grandma, then gained a castle.

Where did I leave off? We spent days cleaning up my grandma’s old house and moving things in there, trying to get it ready to be livable. It was completely Grandma’s idea, of course. It still had some piles of stuff, but it wasn’t too bad. It was clean enough that we could stay there and be ok! My grandma had been helping, she was in charge since they were her things. She kept telling us how happy she was that...

Be not deceived…

I promise I am trying not to dwell on this, but Facebook keeps showing me things from my landlords in my news feed. I should just delete them from my friends. I can’t though, I’m too nosey. Last night I was driving down the road lamenting the fact that they are incredibly hypocritical, yet they can just get away with it. It’s not fair! They pastor a church, their church followers seem to just love them. My landlord even posted on...

This is no good.

I’m not doing so well over here. We didn’t get everything boxed up and in storage this weekend like we’d hoped. It just took too long. We worked on Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. It’s close to being done. I wish Tyler had a vacation day he could take so we could finish it today. Moving into my grandma’s house is going as horribly as I expected. She has clutter everywhere and she can’t seem to get...

More thoughts on The Cabin stuff.

I’m surviving, but I feel so…disheveled. The health department said they called my landlords to ask them about the “gray water” puddle because that is completely against code. The lady from the health department said (prepare yourselves for the shock) that my landlord acted like he had no idea what she was talking about. He said he’s seen that puddle but he thought it was from the gutter run off. Well good thing I have in writing all of the 828934...

Cabin Drama.

Right, so I’m ready to live a quiet life free of drama. Can that please happen? I just want to live in the middle of nowhere without anything ridiculous happening to me. The cabin was not supposed to turn out this way. When we signed the lease the landlords met us at the cabin and walked us through it, explaining that everything had been updated after a fire. New cabinets, new flooring, and so on. It was rustic in that it’s...

The One in Which the Cabin Dies. 0

The One in Which the Cabin Dies.

Ok that title is a little over dramatic, but seriously… We’re staying at my parents house again because it’s too cold in the cabin. I think I mentioned that previously. All of the pipes are frozen completely, no water at all. I don’t know where the water cut off is. It’s somewhere up by the paved road, like five minutes from the cabin itself. My neighbor knows where it is, but when I called him yesterday they weren’t home to cut...

Henry: Five Months.

We’re staying at my parents’ house again. (Hello fast internets! I adore you!) The cabin is not livable when it’s super cold out. Once it gets below about 15 degrees (f) then the draftiness and lack of insulation makes it too cold for my kids. The floor is the worst part. It’s so cold that the dogs’ water dish freezes within a minute of being put down on the kitchen floor. It’s so cold that with two pairs of socks and...
