Rosie read me a Henry and Mudge book tonight.
She reads very slowly and has trouble sounding out some words still, but SHE CAN READ.
Oh my gosh.
She is so proud of herself, she was about to burst. I had no idea she could read words like “winter” or “sparkle”. We’ve been working on sight words from the Dolch list as a part of homeschooling and doing some random phonics work sheets she likes from the Comprehensive Curriculum book for 1st grade that we picked up at Sam’s Club one day. She also does ClicknKids, an online learn to read game/program. I guess it’s working and all coming together in her brain.
Rosie has been five for not even a month and she can read a level 2 beginning reader’s book. Homeschooling FOR THE WIN!
I’m not really bragging on purpose, I’m just so proud of her! And kind of surprised, a little.
This growing up thing is happening super fast. Like a snowball rolling downhill, it’s going faster and faster every single day. Help!
This was Rosie tonight on our evening walk:
Pretty soon she’s going to want to be called Rose because she’s outgrown Rosie. Then she’ll do something crazy like learn to drive, and go off to college, and have babies of her own. Oh.
