I got an invitation from Getty Images yesterday inviting me to become one of their licensed stock photographers.
So exciting! I can submit 25 photos a month (with model/property releases signed, scanned, and uploaded) for their editors to look over, then they choose which ones they will add to their catalog of photos for sale. They pay you via Paypal once a month depending on if you had any sales.
Getty Images provides photos for all kinds of things. Everything from books to the news.
I wanted to do this a few years ago and couldn’t figure out how to get signed up with them, or apply or whatever. I finally was told that you have to wait until they notice your work and then if they want you they will invite you.
I figured that would never happen in a million years.
BUT IT DID.
Yesterday…I was talking to my friend in labor (see previous entry) and I got an email from them.
Yesterday was a pretty good day, wasn’t it?
Today I babysat for my friend. She lives three hours away so we only see them every few months. Rosie was thrilled to play with her best friend Cade. His little brother Eli is five months older than Ada and now they are able to play together too. They loved each other!
I don’t find four kids much harder than two. In some ways it’s easier since they entertain each other and watch out for each other. That makes less work for me.
It was very fall like today, with temperatures dropping all day and overcast skies rolling in. A blustery wind even kicked up! It was so chilly that Eli had to borrow one of Ada’s purple jackets after we’d been outside for a few minutes. I realized the poor little thing was freezing!
I took some pictures of them, but they aren’t the best since I was chasing two toddlers at the same time.
Rosie and Cade together. (Cade is 1 month younger than Rosie, they’re both 5 now. Rosie is very tall. She’s 45 inches!)
I have a wedding all day tomorrow, then maybe I can relax on Sunday…I hope.
