Rosie’s Dance Recital. <3
Rosie’s first dance recital last night went well. She had such a great time!
Despite any reservations I might have had about her outfit, they all looked SO CUTE together. The other age groups did a wonderful job too. Ada loved watching them dance. She kept putting her arms over her head in an arch and then clapping her hands, and dancing by bending her knees. I think maybe she will want to do dance when she turns four too…
Look how grown up Rosie is!
The lighting in there was very yellow with deep shadows. It was so jam packed with people, I couldn’t use my big flash without blinding someone accidentally or being bumped into, and the pop-up flash on the camera is worthless. So flash-free pictures it is! I love the 50mm 1.4 lens–even though wide open at 1.4 there may be a lot of soft spots in the photo, it still captures the moment well 90% of the time, and nothing compares to its low light performance. I just have to be careful to line up people precisely on the same focal plane if I want more than one person in focus…which is not really always possible with small children, but that’s alright.
My sister made a video from the back of the crowd, but I haven’t had time to look at it yet.
Rosie may be somewhat a clone of Tyler, but she has my mom’s lips and the same elf ears I had as a kid.
The lights were turned down for their performance, and it was so crowded I couldn’t stand anywhere to get a good photo. I was squeezed between two poles.
They danced to Frosty the Snowman.
Rosie is so the polar opposite of shy, she was thrilled to dance in front of a huge crowd. (That would be like my worst nightmare!)
The picture on the right has me cracking up.
(Rosie is on the far right with her side to the camera.)
After the performance from each age group they had snacks and Rosie got to run around with her friends.
Aren’t they beautiful?
Why is my baby SO GROWN UP? I think I’m going to cry now.
Tyler’s Granny brought Rosie her flower.
Rosie with a classmate and her dance teacher…
Rosie loves Miss Rebecca.
I know I keep saying this, but I can’t believe how grown-up Rosie is.
She absolutely loves dance. I’m having so much fun watching her learn coordination and gracefulness and self control, and she is so proud of herself.
