Henry: Five Months.
We’re staying at my parents’ house again. (Hello fast internets! I adore you!)
The cabin is not livable when it’s super cold out. Once it gets below about 15 degrees (f) then the draftiness and lack of insulation makes it too cold for my kids.
The floor is the worst part. It’s so cold that the dogs’ water dish freezes within a minute of being put down on the kitchen floor. It’s so cold that with two pairs of socks and wooly boots your toes still burn from lack of warmth.
I wish we could have known this before moving in.
The HVAC doesn’t work well, and the lack of insulation compounds the problem.
Oh well. Only another month to go before the worst of winter is passed and everything will be fine again.
We’re planning on moving, but I’m not sure where. We have to raise our credit score a little in order to get another mortgage, in addition to the mortgage we already have on the house we rent out. So we need to pay down debt, which we can do in time. Mainly I want to do it before next winter! The cabin is amazing in the summer. I would dearly love to spend another summer there. I would love to spend every summer of my life there.
But another winter? No.
Tyler got promoted to team leader at work last night. That means he gets a 5% pay raise. Quite exciting! I’m a big fan of pay raises. That will help us be able to get another mortgage faster
Tyler intends to continue working his way up the ladder. He has to be a team leader for one year before he can apply to be a group leader. The interview process to move up is extensive each time. They make you do multiple types of interviews and grade you. Hard work.
In other news, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital rescheduled Henry’s appointment with the neurosurgeon. I’m so frustrated. It was supposed to be January 28th.
The lady on the phone tried to give me a March 24th appointment.
Uh, no. No, no, no, no, no.
This is my baby’s growing skull. March 24th! That is way too far away.
So February 10th is the new appointment.
I wasn’t very nice to the scheduling lady. I’m always nice to people! But March 24th? Unacceptable. Still don’t know why they randomly had to reschedule.
You can see how on one side of his skull it bulges it out, making his eyes look two different sizes. I just want my sweet boy to have an even head, is that so much to ask? I want to know what’s wrong and I want to fix it. Now.
I know I’m biased, but crooked head aside he is still the cutest squishy boy ever. :)
It really depends on the angle. From some angles it looks like his head and face are perfectly normal. But they aren’t, trust me.
I can’t believe he’s five months old. He’s a giant. He fits in 12 month clothing. 18 months fits too, just have to roll the pants and sleeves one time.
I know, I know. That was a billion pictures of Henry playing upstairs, I just couldn’t decide which ones not to share…
