Halloween & Potties.
Halloween was indeed cold, but the rain stopped just in time for trick or treating!
The Poky Little Puppy totally got the concept of going to doors, saying something sort of like Trick or Treat, then saying, “Dank doo!” for thank you. As soon as we would walk away from each porch he would frantically sign, “Eat! Eat!” and try to reach in the bucket.
He also kept pointing to himself and saying, “Woof woof!”
The make-up, which was actually just eye liner, did not hold up to baby rubbing. I also had the hardest time putting it on him! I was just going to color a little on the tip of his nose, but he kept moving and I ended up coloring most of his nose. Anyway, it was really funny and he enjoyed looking at himself in the mirror. We all got a good laugh out of him.
Henry with my father-in-law.
Prepare yourself for Rosie the blood crazed vampire:
She was so worried that she would just look like “a kid in a vampire dress” so I added some make-up for her. She loved it!
I also present to you Coronation Anna and Winter Anna:
The little girl in the wig is my brother-in-law’s daughter Lauren. Rosie and Ada adore their cousin! She spent the night with us on Halloween. She’s three. She and Ada are big buddies.
Tyler with Henry.
This was the first Halloween that Tyler has not been at work in years. I think it was the first time he’s been home on Halloween in Ada’s entire life.
Post-Trick or Treating! We only made it around a couple of blocks. So few people were handing out candy.
He was so proud to be eating a sucker from his Halloween bucket.
Henry is growing up too fast. He’s doing so well using the potty! I bought him a second little potty to keep downstairs, since this house is big. I was finding that we couldn’t make it upstairs to his little potty often enough.
If he sees the potty in the room he will go and use it 99% of the time. But…only if he’s naked from the waist down. I remember the girls went through this same phase of only being potty trained when naked, then one day it passed and they could wear underwear.
Rosie was done with diapers during the day at 16 months, but still wore them at night for a few months after that. Ada was done with diapers night at day at 9 months because she loved EC. Henry is almost 15 months and I’m not sure when he will be totally done with diapers, but it doesn’t really matter. I very much enjoy flushing his poop instead of scraping it off of his bum, so I will be satisfied with that even if he isn’t completely pee-trained for a long time yet. He never poops in his diaper unless it’s an accident.
I discovered these potties on Amazon that are perfect and only $8! (One color is cheaper than the others, no idea why. Originally we bought the $9.99 color, and the second one we got was the $8 one. It’s exactly the same, just different colos.)
We’ve been using one of them for a year, since Henry was about five months old for EC, and it’s held up perfectly. They’re great for boys, trust me. ;)
