The First Haircut.
That’s right, Henry got his first hair cut.
I put it off for as long as I could, but he was starting to look like a homeless person without access to regular hygiene.
We weren’t sure how he would do sitting still for someone to trim his hair, so we wanted to go to a kiddie place. Unfortunately the only one was an hour away! Luckily it’s right by my parents’ house, so we stopped in to get Henry’s hair cut before going over to my parents’ for my sister’s birthday dinner on Sunday evening.
Here he is with his massive poofy hair the day before.
Sunset, so bright out!
The girls ended up getting their hairs cut too. This is horrible lighting, but I had to save it anyway since all three were looking.
When wet it curls nicely, but even with gel he rolls on it and the curls turn into this quickly.
Henry’s reaction at the Kiddie Cutters place was one of silent shock and maybe a little horror. But regardless he sat totally still and stared straight ahead without blinking or making eye contact. For my boy who is very outgoing and constantly on the move this was a very unexpected reaction!
I wish I’d taken my real camera, but I felt dumb carrying professional photography gear in there. Bah. So quick phone snapshots it is.
It is finished.
The hair cut place had a huge double slide inside. The kids loved it. Henry is very physically active. At this age the girls were reserved and cautious. Not Henry. He’s happy to do the slides and climb anything he can all on his own.
Rosie got the cutest hair cut she’s ever had! I told the lady she wanted it cut off around her chin. It came out awesome.
Here’s Ada’s before picture. Her hair was so long. She’s only had it cut once before, and then it was just the ends trimmed off. This time she got it all chopped off!
Yes, I know Ada’s boots are on the wrong feet. I pointed it out to her and she never fixed it. Her underwear is probably on backwards too.
It’s weird getting used to Henry with no hair! Tyler wanted it all buzzed off. He seems so different!
This was at homeschool co-op on Monday morning.
