Quick! Igor’s friend V can be hosted (nearly) for free!!
Guys, guess what?
Igor’s best friend Vitalik has a full scholarship for hosting.
If you would like to host and have been afraid of the cost this is the PERFECT opportunity.
Vitalik is on the adoption registry. He’s goofy and sweet. He has watched other kids get hosted and adopted, but no one ever comes for him. He is 10 or 11 years old.
It is finally his turn.
Vitalik is short for Valentin. He’s chubby and the older kids at the orphanage beat up on him, slap him, and call him pig. :( Yet he still smiles. My friends who are at the orphanage adopting right now said he is just desperate for the attention of a mother figure. He will want to sit with you, play games with you, talk your ear off and not care that you don’t understand him, be hugged, joke around, and experience new things like the movie theater or being kissed goodnight.
The ideal host family for Vitalik wouldn’t have any boys right around his age–older or younger would be fine. (Keep in mind institutionalized kids are often a few years younger acting than their age due to lack of nurturing.) Girls the same age would be fine. Kids from the orphanage tend to feel the need to compete with peers their own age and it causes stress. I would host him myself in a hot second if I thought Igor wouldn’t mercilessly compete for my attention.
Since Vitalik has been bullied he may need some help learning how to be treated nicely, and in turn learning how to treat others nicely. He is a great kid though. Just look at him!
I just love Vitalik. I’ve talked to him on FaceTime with Igor and heard Igor talk about him often. Knowing I’ll see him being loved on all summer is the best Easter gift ever.
You can find more information about hosting and Vitalik with our new agency, Children of All nations. They have a Facebook page as well as a website.
Vitalik is right there on the top of the page holding a pink teddy bear. :)
The hosting cost to his lucky family would be a home safety check (varies by region, was $200 in KY), background checks for each adult (also varies by state, was about $20 here), and maybe the application fee with Children of All Nations which is $250.
If they require the application fee that’s all you will need up front. The rest is just pay as you go over the next couple of months.
Other than that you’ll only need a spare bed, clothes, and lots of patience and love! They’ll be flying into the Atlanta airport on June 12th at 2:10 in the afternoon.
There are almost never full scholarships, this is an amazing opportunity for Vitalik and an interested family!
