Today is the day we’re supposed to hear about our offer on that house in Columbus. While we loved the house, the sellers and/or their agent are crazy making!
We gave them a great offer with a conventional loan. We offered their asking price! First they said they want to collect other offers for three days. As if they will get a whole bunch of offers over their asking price. (Maybe, but I would guess unlikely…)
Our offer letter stated we needed a response by noon on Wednesday. The agent emailed this morning and says they will give a response by 1 because they will begin reviewing all of their offers at noon.
What the heck?
Then they asked us if we wanted to increase our offer another thousand or so, to our max pre-approval amount they saw listed on the pre-approval letter.
No, actually, we don’t. And if you want to officially counter offer we can discuss it then, but no I don’t want to casually give you more money for no apparent reason.
Love the house, not interested in playing mind games. Either accept the offer, counter offer, or give the house to someone else because we can walk away and find a new house. Why is this so difficult???
I’m finding house hunting very frustrating when it comes to this part of the experience.
