Things are rolling right along.
Tomorrow morning is the home inspection. I’m nervous about it, just in case there is some kind of hidden issue. I would be surprised if there was, but I won’t count my chickens before they hatch, you know?
Tyler will be leaving at 5:30 tomorrow morning to make it up there in time for the home inspection at 9. Then he’s staying for the rest of the week since he’s starting his new job on Monday.
Yesterday (Friday) was his last day at Toyota! Last time on night shift too. Can’t say I’m sorry to say goodbye to the horrible hours at all, but leaving the job security of Toyota is a little scary.
Tyler is at the store right now getting boxes and some totes. He got a ton of free ones from his dad’s office too. (His dad owns a mailing business.) I am more than ready to pack! I plan to systematically organize, declutter, and pack each room.
Even though our house is huge I don’t think the packing will be all that bad since we’ve only lived here a year. This is our third move in three years and I am getting in a packing groove from all the practice, unfortunately.
I do get some kind of sick thrill from unpacking and perfectly organizing a brand new space. Moving is stressful, but part of me loves it. A little, teeny, tiny mentally ill part of me that should probably be medicated and put in a padded room most likely. ;)
The most difficult things to move will be the aquariums. We have a 90 gallon with cichlids and a 10 gallon with a few tetras and guppies. The cichlids really enjoy their heated water, so moving them will have to be done carefully. I’ll have to set their tanks back up as soon as we get there, which is kind of frustrating but can’t be helped.
I’m getting really excited to move and anxious to get started!!
I think our official closing date is June 5th. That’s a little more than a month!!
We’re on Kitchen-less Day 70 now. According to the workers they will be done on Wednesday, but I won’t hold my breath.
Can’t wait to be living comfortably in a house that I own where I am in charge of things! Renting has not been kind to me, obviously.
