At the Zoo
This weekend we went to the zoo with Igor.
Rosie hates it because Igor demands all of the attention, constantly talking and trying to make us go faster, then complaining that he’s tired, or hot, or his belly hurts…
We have a zoo membership, so I had to keep reminding the girls that we can come back next week and walk as slow as we want!
Here are a few random videos I made of Igor at the zoo, just for memory’s sake. (Ada was in the stroller because she wasn’t feeling that good. She ate some cherries, which she is allergic to, and she has had an upset tummy for three days since. That will teach her to sneak food when I say no! They were in fruit cocktail. She wants to go out and do stuff, not lay around, but she wasn’t up for a hardcore walk through the zoo in the heat.)
I forgot my camera, so I just took phone pictures.
Igor didn’t want to be in this picture.
Igor isn’t in these because he was off to the side crying and pouting that it was hot and he was afraid of the river, which was fully railed off so that Henry couldn’t even fall in…
See the railing? Igor got over it…mostly.
Ada’s most treasured stuffed animal is named Birdie. She’s the stuff penguin in this picture, just above Ada’s head. Ada was so excited to bring Birdie to the zoo to meet her ancestors. That was how Ada worded it.
Igor also loved the penguins!
I feel really bad because poor Rosie wanted to see the polar bears so badly and we didn’t see them this time, or last time. The Columbus Zoo is huge and it’s impossible to do everything with little kids in the summer heat. We’ll have to head straight to the polar bears first thing next time we go.
In the car post-zoo…
Igor is only here for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Then he and Tyler will be flying to Atlanta first thing Friday morning.
So hard to say goodbye.
