It still feels like someone is missing from our home. Everything is too quiet. Too easy.
Tyler and I made a video slideshow of our summer with Igor.
(Click on the video to watch it full screen and in HD!)
Monday the kids are starting (home)school. I need to finish finally unpacking our house and get us into a normal routine. Life continues on.
We got word that Igor’s bio family picked him up once he got back to Ukraine today. I’m thankful his mom followed through on that promise. He would have been crushed otherwise. He has four pounds (!) of peanut butter, a ton of crackers, honey roasted peanuts, candy, chips, and a package of rolls in his suitcase so I know he will at least have something to eat while with his mom.
Thanks everyone for all of your financial support for our hosting escapades over the past few years, and for the thoughts and prayers as well.
I’ll keep updating everyone on Igor, if I am able to stay in contact with him. In his photo album I wrote our phone numbers, address, Facebook and VK accounts, and Skype screen name. He didn’t go back with his old iPhone because he kept losing it at our house and we figured it would just get lost/stolen/broken instantly like the last one we sent back in the past. :( I’m not sure how he will contact us. Maybe with a friend’s phone? It’s sad and hard to send him all the way across the world.
I’m really looking forward to getting certified as foster parents this fall and seeing where that leads!
