When Your Husband is Defeated by a Four Pound Cat.

The kids and I left this weekend to come down to Kentucky to stay with my parents for a week. I’m photographing my friend’s birth and her due date was Saturday. So far no baby! This is her third birth. I’ve photographed the other two. Have I ever mentioned how much I love births?? Tyler had to work on Monday and Tuesday (today and tomorrow). He’s planning on coming down on Wednesday. So the way we have our ridiculous kitties set...

Nearly 15 Months.

This boy. Is. Trouble. Trouble on legs. Hell on wheels. He’s so busy. And he hates toys! Unless he’s breaking them. Help. Send help. Lucky for him, he’s also super adorable. He loves to eat. Molars were totally the best thing that ever happened to him. Hold me! Denied, until de-Mexicaning your entire body is complete. Sorry son! Which turned out to involve a bath. What are you looking at? How about NO? No way, tiny human. No. Mhhmm, dry human...

I can’t believe this happened.

My Accidentally-Knocked-Up-Kitty gave birth to her kittens too early yesterday. Too much sad. Way too much sad. There were four of them. She tried to get them to nurse and she kept looking at me like, “Why is this not working?” She was purring so loudly, licking them, cuddling them. Ada kept telling her, “I’m so sorry. I’m so, so sorry.” Rosie is still holding out hope that there are more kittens hidden inside of her that will be born later,...

RIP Mouse. 0

RIP Mouse.

The mouse was successfully dispatched the following night. Rosie got up in the morning and went in the kitchen.  I heard her scream, “A dead mouse!  Inside our kitchen!” She grabbed my phone and took a picture of it and brought it in bed to show me.  Indeed, it was a dead mouse on the kitchen floor. Ada got up to look at it, screamed and ran back in the bedroom to tell me it had tiny eyes/legs/toes and A REAL...

Spring Tease & The Mouse. 0

Spring Tease & The Mouse.

We have a mouse in our house!  This has never happened before here. It came in the dryer vent hole, stole my collection of saved garden seeds, and made a nice nest behind the dryer in the corner.  I saw no signs of it and had no idea it was there until our dryer broke and we got it repaired the other day.  When we pulled out the dryer, there was the evidence! I wondered why my cats had taken to...

Catch Up and the Girls’ First Zoo Trip. 2

Catch Up and the Girls’ First Zoo Trip.

I’ve been neglecting you lately on the picture front. I’m doing 365, but I’ve found I don’t have time to take creative pictures everyday. Instead my goal is to just take a picture of what we did that day, so I’ll have one year of memories. For example, 26/365:  We drugged Rintoo with two valiums in order to shave him.  He has to be shaved because he’s so large (21 pounds) and not able to groom his long cottony fur or his...
