When Morbidly Obese Angry Cats Attack…with Urine. (And Vacation Photos!)

It’s 3 a.m. and I am awake googling the words, “How to remove cat urine odor from a bounce house.” Based on the results, or lack there of, I am fairly certain I may be one of the sole unlucky humans to ever google this phrase. In case you’re wondering, you can power wash a bouncy house. I know, because I did it using soap designed to clean mildew off of siding. In case you are also wondering, while pressure washing...

PRIDE 2016!!

Catch up from June, pictures I never posted! Pride Parade, because everyone deserves love and respect. (And who doesn’t enjoy a good parade?) One amongst us really enjoyed the parade and may or may not have had the absolute time of his life. It was so hot out. LOL Blue teeth! They kept throwing out handfuls of candy to the kids. They also tossed out hats, sunglasses, balls, retired children’s library books, and tons of other stuff. The drag queens gave...

One whole decade. That’s how old my baby is now. That’s how long I’ve been a mother. I was 19 and pregnant. I wish I could go back and tell the 19 year old me that it will all be ok in the end. The journey to “ok” definitely wasn’t an easy one, but we’re here now, safe and sound. Well, at least as “ok” as anyone ever is, I suppose. ;) I spent her entire pregnancy in a state of...

water balloon fight half heard in the stillness 0

Super Fun Water Balloon Fight!

A couple of weekends ago we went to my aunt and uncle’s house to visit with them and my cousins, who were here from out of state. Fun times were had by all. The kids keep asking when we can do that again! Ada was approaching with a water balloon… Victory daaaaaance! We also had the GoPro out. It was set in video mode, but also set to take pictures every five seconds. The results of those settings are so hit...

toddler acting like hulk photograph picture 0

Rosie is getting so big. It’s unbelievable. I’m not sure how this is happening so quickly. It was almost 80 degrees out, so I let Henry play in the water. Ada played too, but not for long because the water was freezing cold! Rosie was too old to even be interested. This one…hahaha! He was pretending to be Hulk. Of course today it’s gray, cloudy, misting rain, and in the 50’s outside. One day of nice weather, five days of gray...

Slo Mo Trampoline FUN!

Ok, so my voice in slo mo when jumping on the trampoline equals hilarity. I sound completely drunk and wasted. “Dooooo youuuuur magic moooooves…!” Can’t stop laughing. In the second half of this vlog Ada graphically loses her top front tooth. Huge milestone!

Pre-Easter Fun!

Last weekend was our neighborhood egg hunt. We’ve never lived here at Easter before, so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. Egg hunts back in Kentucky kind of sucked–all the ones we went to were like frantic egg grabs, parents encouraging their kids to take as many eggs as possible, little kids crying, some kids with no eggs and other kids loaded down. After three years in a row of horrible egg hunt experiences I was leary of taking my...

Magic Kingdom Disney Surprise 0

More Disney!

We went to Epcot for one of our days at the Disney parks. Traditionally Epcot has been my favorite of all the parks, but this was the first time I’ve ever tried to go with little kids. Let’s just say it was not nearly as fun to visit all the countries with little ones in tow… And at one point Henry accidentally peed on his shirt in the bathroom, which meant I had to take his shirt off. As luck would...

Time for Goodbye

Like many other Americans, I bought a Powerball ticket yesterday. I don’t normally buy any kind of lottery tickets. Actually this is the first time I’ve ever purchased one. But I thought, What the heck, $2 for a Powerball ticket isn’t much.  Just in case a miracle should occur… I know exactly what I would do with that money. Happy days to all of my friends who are adopting and struggling to raise the funds! Your adoptions just became fully funded!!...

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.” Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet Happy New Year, friends. I’m curious to see what this year holds for our family. Edit entry Delete entry
