Best Friends Forever.

Here are a few pictures from my phone from recently: Sunny day mud pie! Toes in the mud. Kept taking off his boots and socks until I gave up. The boy feels an unavoidable urge to reach all of the electronics and push all of their buttons, no matter what. His sisters did this. They also did this to him. The first snow of the winter on Saturday morning, which has already melted. This is the view from my kitchen window....

Tired.

Fitbit tells me the most ridiculous things about my life. I walk up to eight miles a day in my own house. Go up and down twelve flights of stairs, again in my house. The best thing Fitbit tells me is about my sleep. It’s like pure justification for feeling tired and bleary. It shows I have a lot of awake times at night. Not just a lot but a whole lot of awake times. For example on Friday night I was laying in bed...

Big Fat Snow Flakes Falling. 0

Snowy.

This morning someone rang our doorbell at 7 a.m., when it was still dark out. Tyler stumbled out of bed because the dogs started barking and the baby started crying. He went downstairs and opened the door only to find someone wanting to shovel the snow on our sidewalk for booze money. In the dark. On Saturday morning. Are you kidding? By then the baby was awake. The dogs wanted to go out. The sun wasn’t even up yet. I don’t...

My sweet goofball. 0

A brief respite from the cold.

We’ve been enjoying the warmer weather lately. For the past two days it’s been in the mid 50’s with sun! I am so ready for spring. We’ve had no snow this winter, just lots and lots of ugly gray days with freezing temps and just-above-freezing rain. Yuck. The kids have played outside for hours during the past couple of days. Sun. SUN! And Ada with her short hairs!! Excuse his crusty nose. He’s had his first cold ever and I practically...

The First Haircut.

That’s right, Henry got his first hair cut. I put it off for as long as I could, but he was starting to look like a homeless person without access to regular hygiene. We weren’t sure how he would do sitting still for someone to trim his hair, so we wanted to go to a kiddie place. Unfortunately the only one was an hour away! Luckily it’s right by my parents’ house, so we stopped in to get Henry’s hair cut...

Elimination Communication Champion 2

Henry at 17 Months Old.

Tomorrow I have the follow up appointment with internist (doctor) for my giardia. I’ve been feeling great the last couple of days, but this morning I woke up with that ominous burning crampy feeling in my lower bowel. It’s been exactly a week since I last had an episode of misery. Are you kidding me?? So far nothing bad has happened yet. I just don’t feel that great. Maybe it’s a coincidence? :( Anyway, we’ll see what the doctor thinks tomorrow....

Santa came! 0

Christmas Day Photos!

Walking in the living room to see that Santa had arrived… It may look like he didn’t bring much, but Rosie and Ada got iPad minis from us. Small in size, big in dollars. Dimple! Rosie specifically requested a black newborn doll from Santa Claus. I took everything out of the packages and put it into storage tubs before wrapping it so that I wouldn’t have to fool with ripping stuff out of packages on Christmas morning. The clean up was...

Gingerbread house decorating for Christmas. 0

Gingerbread House Decorating!

I never got a chance to post pictures of the kids decorating their gingerbread house a week or so ago. That’s Ada’s special stuffed animal, Birdy. Henry’s hair constantly looks like this in the back. When you get it wet it curls, but it never stays even with gel. I took three pictures in a row, and I realized later in one picture Ada is licking the gingerbread house! This was before he learned to break out of baby jail. It...

Nearly 15 Months.

This boy. Is. Trouble. Trouble on legs. Hell on wheels. He’s so busy. And he hates toys! Unless he’s breaking them. Help. Send help. Lucky for him, he’s also super adorable. He loves to eat. Molars were totally the best thing that ever happened to him. Hold me! Denied, until de-Mexicaning your entire body is complete. Sorry son! Which turned out to involve a bath. What are you looking at? How about NO? No way, tiny human. No. Mhhmm, dry human...

Fun Times.

Saturday was family day for Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky. They buy out King’s Island, an amusement park in Ohio, for the entire day. Everything is free–tickets for everyone on your health insurance plan or an equivalent number of guests, parking, and unlimited drinks. Tyler and Rosie go every year, but this was the first year Ada has been. It was Henry’s first year too, of course. Tyler’s parents also came along and brought my BIL’s daughter Lauren. Rosie and Ada adore...
