Gingerbread house decorating for Christmas. 0

Gingerbread House Decorating!

I never got a chance to post pictures of the kids decorating their gingerbread house a week or so ago. That’s Ada’s special stuffed animal, Birdy. Henry’s hair constantly looks like this in the back. When you get it wet it curls, but it never stays even with gel. I took three pictures in a row, and I realized later in one picture Ada is licking the gingerbread house! This was before he learned to break out of baby jail. It...

Halloween & Potties.

Halloween was indeed cold, but the rain stopped just in time for trick or treating! The Poky Little Puppy totally got the concept of going to doors, saying something sort of like Trick or Treat, then saying, “Dank doo!” for thank you. As soon as we would walk away from each porch he would frantically sign, “Eat! Eat!” and try to reach in the bucket. He also kept pointing to himself and saying, “Woof woof!” The make-up, which was actually just...

As 2013 Ends…

2013 is almost over. This year has brought about big changes. New baby! New home! This time last year we didn’t know if Henry was a boy or a girl. We had just met Igor. We had no idea we’d actually be able to move. I had no idea that I would be living on the perfect piece of land. What will next year bring? I have no idea. Hopefully good things. With Igor, well….we’re all in. We want to adopt...

Ada’s First Hair Cut, The End of October, & Other Pictures.

Here are some pictures from recently. I can’t remember which ones I’ve posted before. I think this was the week before Halloween: Kitten is obsessed with the faucet in the bathroom. Henry dressed in cute clothes. I feel like he’s so much bigger than this now, even though it was just a few weeks ago! And you can see his torticollis here. His head was stuck in that position. Thank goodness that’s fixed mostly. This was the Saturday morning before Halloween....

We had to carve our pumpkin without Tyler this year since he was at work. We didn’t have time to do it beforehand, and we were running out of days before Halloween! I decided to try using the drill. It went…ok. Rosie designed the pumpkin and I carved it. This is when the drill ran out of batteries before we did the last whiskers. All lit up! Our town changed trick or treating to the 1st of November since we had...

Well this made me cry! 0

Well this made me cry!

A friend I met through the hosting group this summer shared this essay her adopted daughter wrote for school.  I read it not realizing what it was and it made me cry! This woman, Brooke, and her husband, adopted three girls from Ukraine.  The first little girl they hosted over Christmas, fell in love with her, and promptly began the adoption process.  While they were at the orphanage adopting her they met her two best friends.  They came back as soon...

Snafu & Christmas Pictures. 1

Snafu & Christmas Pictures.

I’m really stressing about how I will get Host Boy from the Atlanta airport.  I keep praying there will be some painless solution.  I know at 8 weeks pregnant  (Click here if you missed it!) I am not going to feel like driving 16 hours round trip alone.  Tyler doesn’t understand, because he’s never been pregnant.  He keeps rolling his eyes and saying I will be fine.  I know it’s not just me…most pregnant women at 8 weeks wouldn’t feel like...

Thanksgiving & Fall Leaves. 0

Thanksgiving & Fall Leaves.

Apparently I thought Host Boy had gotten his visa but that was wrong information because I found out their visa appointment is actually this coming Thursday. I will continue holding my breath until then!  There should be no issues, but you know. The disorganization of Ukraine and timeline for the program is hard.  I desperately need to buy plane tickets to pick up Host Boy at Dulles but I’m not doing it until after he gets his visa at the embassy...

Easter Eggs vs. Small Children 0

Easter Eggs vs. Small Children

Warning: About a million pictures below. I had way too many bantam eggs, so we decided to dye those for Easter. They are like mini eggs.  Everything mini is more fun, because mini things are cute, right? Plus they are the perfect size for little hands to grip. I saw this idea on Pinterest to use a muffin tin to dye eggs.  Well that one deserves a negative rating. Two seconds after this picture was taken Ada flipped the muffin tin over,...

New Year’s Day: 55 and sunny outside…! The girls went outside to play in the new house they got for Christmas. This picture is like Ada all summed up in one snapshot.  Crooked grin, hammer swinging, chipped front tooth, pure happy. It was extremely windy out.  Cooler air on the way! Big blue eyes!  (Ignore the muddy dog prints. I give up during winter.) They look so happy, don’t they? I’m afraid I’m not being a very good mother to them right...
