Alina, Again.

I went to the doctor this morning and he gave me a prescription for Alinia, which was the second Giardia medication I took last time. It wasn’t as bad as the Tinidizole that I took first, which didn’t work. That stuff was disgusting. The Alinia makes me sick though. :( I took the first pill with lunch and then struggled not to throw up for a few hours. Now my pee is very neon and I have already pooped three times....

I’m ready to share these now.

Apparently the moving costs will be a reimbursement given 3-4 weeks after moving. There goes my plan to paint and fix the floors prior to moving in. Frustrating! If we weren’t cashing in the 401k or didn’t have that to cash in then we wouldn’t be able to afford to move. Is a reimbursement standard!? Do most people just have thousands of dollars laying around to afford a moving truck down the interstate?? The only good thing is the reimbursement will...

Nobody Puts Baby in a Corner…Except When They Do.

I don’t think I can really stand to write about this. After seeing about fifteen houses all over areas around eastern Columbus and right outside of the city in surrounding area I gave up. Every house we loved was under contract already, or went under contract that day while we were trying to look at houses. What the heck? I have never been so frustrated with anything. Ever. We just cannot afford anything with land up there if we want to...

Moving On…

Well, they didn’t accept our offer or let us counter offer. They just gave the house to someone else. I’m over it. I think it’s possibly a blessing in disguise because I really don’t want to work with them after the way they’ve strung us along for days and everything. I’ve compiled a list of a few more houses to go up there and look at. One I really love, but it’s a similar situation: It was just put on the...

Biting Nails.

Today is the day we’re supposed to hear about our offer on that house in Columbus. While we loved the house, the sellers and/or their agent are crazy making! We gave them a great offer with a conventional loan. We offered their asking price! First they said they want to collect other offers for three days. As if they will get a whole bunch of offers over their asking price. (Maybe, but I would guess unlikely…) Our offer letter stated we...

Big, Big Move!

Big news: Tyler has accepted a job offer in Ohio! It’s with a company called TenCate in Hebron, just east of Columbus.  I wasn’t able to write about it publicly because we wanted to be sure it was all working out before his current job got word of it. If they found out he was job hunting and then it fell through then things could be bad for him at work. Tyler, Henry, and I spent the weekend in Columbus. We...

My Castle House.

There was snow on the ground this morning. This is the view from my kitchen window in the morning. That barn roof is normally black. Today it was white with snow! Later we got hit with some crazy, crazy sleet while we were at the art teacher’s house. Rosie takes homeschool art class taught by a local artist in his studio on Tuesday afternoons. There are three other kids in her class. She loves it! They do painting, pottery, drawing, basically...

This is no good.

I’m not doing so well over here. We didn’t get everything boxed up and in storage this weekend like we’d hoped. It just took too long. We worked on Friday night, all day Saturday, and all day Sunday. It’s close to being done. I wish Tyler had a vacation day he could take so we could finish it today. Moving into my grandma’s house is going as horribly as I expected. She has clutter everywhere and she can’t seem to get...

Views out here.

We spent our first night at the cabin last night. Ada coughed all night long, so there wasn’t much sleep involved. Sick, crazy bunny! This weekend we moved some of our furniture–the dressers, beds, and a love seat.  We still have to move the big Expedit shelves, which have to be taken apart and put back together, and the washer and dryer. The house has tons of stuff all over it, half packed boxes.  Everything is still in the scary over...

Things and Things. 1

Things and Things.

I am completely overwhelmed by moving and keeping up with daily chores. Moving is going ever so slowly.  It pours rain all day for the one day off Tyler has each week.  Every single week since we’ve had the lease! We can’t seem to get the fencing set up, which means we can’t move out there for good because we can’t leave the animals here alone.  I’m so frustrated! I wish Tyler could just take a week off, but he doesn’t...
