Vlad at the Zoo!

Now that I have a few moments I need to go back and catch up on sharing the pictures and videos from June! We took Vlad to the zoo a couple weeks ago. He loved it. I don’t think he’d ever been before. It was in the 90’s outside and very humid, so if you’re wondering why we’re all red and sweaty, and why Ada dumped water on her hair…yeah. Feeding the giraffes is always the best part, in my opinion...

toddler oral surgery missing teeth pulled caps 0

Toothless Wonder Boy.

This happened today. We’ve been on the cancellation list to get into dental surgery ASAP, and I knew it was coming, but I’m still horribly sad about my baby’s teeth. I want to cry. Since I was so sick with giardiasis during his pregnancy I had malnutrition, and it caused the enamel on his top teeth not to form. His teeth were really soft, not hard and white like they should be. As a result they quickly began to crumble and...

toddler acting like hulk photograph picture 0

Rosie is getting so big. It’s unbelievable. I’m not sure how this is happening so quickly. It was almost 80 degrees out, so I let Henry play in the water. Ada played too, but not for long because the water was freezing cold! Rosie was too old to even be interested. This one…hahaha! He was pretending to be Hulk. Of course today it’s gray, cloudy, misting rain, and in the 50’s outside. One day of nice weather, five days of gray...

Hiking Pictures!

Man, I guess we have germs. Last week Henry randomly got watery diarrhea. I thought he drank some of the soapy water from the water table they were playing in the day before. He had wanted bubbles in it so I added dish soap. I told him not to drink it, but there was a few minutes where he was alone with it and you know how toddlers (especially boys) can be. But yesterday, 7 days since Henry was sick, Ada...

Pre-Easter Fun!

Last weekend was our neighborhood egg hunt. We’ve never lived here at Easter before, so I wasn’t sure exactly what to expect. Egg hunts back in Kentucky kind of sucked–all the ones we went to were like frantic egg grabs, parents encouraging their kids to take as many eggs as possible, little kids crying, some kids with no eggs and other kids loaded down. After three years in a row of horrible egg hunt experiences I was leary of taking my...

Wizarding World of Harry Potter!!

I’m still trying to catch up on our vacation pictures and videos! We had such a great time. Did I mention that? On Tuesday of our vacation week we went to Universal Orlando to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. SO EXCITING! I never thought I would be able to go there. Ever. A friend had connections who got us free Universal tickets. How awesome is that? My parents watched Ada and Henry back at the rental house so...

Winter at the Zoo

I took the kids to the zoo the other day. It was sunny outside and very windy, but it was about 55 degrees even with the ice cold wind. We wore flip flops. Except for Rosie, who is ever more practical. We have a membership to the zoo because it’s only about 40 minutes from our house, and it’s such a huge zoo you can go twenty times and still not get bored. We’d never been in the winter before though....

Snowy Pictures!

It finally really snowed here!! The kids were so excited to find that there was more than just the previous day’s dusting of snow on the ground. Igor said it was too cold outside to play, and Rosie only stayed out for a few minutes, but Henry and Ada had tons of fun. It was so bright out that Ada couldn’t see to smile. Hah! Yes, my two year old is almost the same size as my five year old. She’s...

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.” Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet Happy New Year, friends. I’m curious to see what this year holds for our family. Edit entry Delete entry

Henry, age 2. 0

Five Minutes of Henry.

I just wanted one sweet picture of him smiling without his sunglasses on! The pout: Singing into an invisible microphone! Here’s a video of our post-Thanksgiving dinner time, just hanging out… Edit entry Delete entry
