sledding hill 0

Sledding, Kentucky Style.

Yesterday evening this happened: I don’t think these pictures accurately portray the size of our sledding hill. It is massive. Almost like a mountainside. So steep it was difficult to walk up it! In this video we started at the bottom third of the hill because Ada was too tired to walk up any further. Tyler made the video. In this video Tyler tried sledding. I didn’t realize that he had only been sledding once before. I don’t think he had...

The 102 Year Old Love Letter.

Last night Rosie was running down the stairs on her way to grab a bottle of water before getting in bed. She came back a few minutes later very upset. She was scared I would be mad because on her way down the stairs she tapped the decorative wooden ball on the top of a stair railing post…and the thing fell off with a crash. The circular thing on top was what she knocked off. They’re nailed on, but since they’re...

Lumpy Eyes.

I was 39 weeks yesterday!  (My ticker is off by a day.) Rosie was born by now.  Ada still had three days to go.  I wonder what Baby H will choose… This morning I woke up feeling not pregnant at all.  Like full of energy, not even sick.  Weird?  I think I remember this happening right before Rosie was born also.  With Ada I never felt that horrible, so it wasn’t as big of a deal. Today was apparently nesting day....

Bicycle, Bicycle: The Movie! 3

Bicycle, Bicycle: The Movie!

Look at this video I made of Rosie learning to ride her bike for the first time! I made it with my 5d Mark II instead of the iPhone.  It was fun, I’ll have to practice making more videos with it. Rosie thinks the part with Ada at the end is the best, she laughs so hard every time she watches it. (It should be HD quality and is on YouTube, but when I post it on the entry...

Changes!

Ticker says 5 weeks today.  Fertility Friend says 4 weeks, 6 days. I’m still pregnant.  It’s going by SO SLOW. I hate these first few months.  I think the hard part is feeling physically awful while feeling like the idea of a baby is so disconnected from reality.  There’s no evidence of what will (hopefully) be a squishy, adorable baby. I’m feeling weird–sometimes sick but only in that super empty stomach way, not in the motion sick want to die way....

The Birth of an Egg. 0

The Birth of an Egg.

Ever wondered how chickens lay eggs?  Here’s an up close and personal video of Rosie’s favorite little hen Jenny laying an egg.  Jenny is an OEGB, or an Old English Game Bantam. I highly recommend them as pet chickens for kids or small spaces.  Cute, friendly, and small.  You just use two eggs in place of one since their eggs are smaller. See the egg crowning and popping out…!  I have no idea why she was on the water dish and not in...
